Erynlinn was born in the south of Hyrule near the Hylia Lake as the only child of Hylian aristocrats. Her father was lord of that land and also a Knight of Hyrule, a loyal and brave swordsman, whereas her mother was a more gentle person, a healer and an earth mage.
However Eryn remembers only little of that life, for those lands where attacked and destroyed by criminal Gerudo, monsters and even mischievous Hylians during the Hylian Civil War as she was no less then two years old. Her parents perished and only ruins remember of the people of that region.
Together with other orphans and survivors of the war, Eryn was welcomed at the Castle Town. Because she was of noble blood, she grew up on the castle grounds. But little does she care about royalty and aristocracy. Like her father she is rather rough in speech and manners. Besides benefitting on the higher education of noblemen, she also attends the regular training of the Hylian Guards. Although she's not the best with the blade, she does have a good aim with the bow.
Though her indulging passion lays with water magic. Although Hylians are known to have magical abilities that might be more or less intense, performing magic fell into disrepute after many evil magicians were responsible for the recently ended Civil War. It is not considered respectable for a Hylian of honor to practice magic anymore. Eryn does so in secrecy as well as Zelda, the princesses of Hyrule and only heir to the thrown does. Therefore both girls feel somewhat connected to each other, though they would never be best friends.

As a child Eryn never got along well with other aristocratic children, but one day while exploring the Castle Town she came across a young Gerudo girl named Genoveva. Eryn always felt connected to people who where considered outsiders or treated unfair. After that particular girl was shoed away in an unfriendly manner despite her young age, Erynlinn confronted the Hylians doing so and protected the Gerudo.
From then on both girls where friends and met with each other every time Genoveva visited the Castle Town. Though Veva came to there to beg for rupees, Eryn didn't mind it. She ignored all bad rumors about Gerudo and was really eager to help her friend out with everything she could.
Genoveva never took advantage of Eryn and ever appreciated her friendship, but never the less she grew found of Ganondorf, her king, and therefore believed in his views and ways. It was ever her dream to ascend to a high rank of her tribe and serve her king. Hence she honed her skills as a Gerudo warrior.
Both girls often discussed politics with each other, although having different opinions on that matter. Erynlinn would never support Ganondorfs beliefs which she knew only sparsely of at that point. None the less she also believed that the King of Hyrule was weak and Hylians became decadent after the war had ended. There were less soldiers guarding the lands and those existent where incompetent.
Although it was Veva who pointed out to Eryn, she should do something against the situation, if it really bothered her that much, both were bound to separate one day. It was after Eryn just started her career as she made a terrible discovery. One night as she was enjoying a nice stroll through town she met Veva again, but this time Veva was not begging for rupees, but involved in a holdup murder togehter with other fellow Gerudo. After a brief fight between Eryn and Veva, the Gerudo escaped and left a rather bitter Erynlinn behind.
Thereafter Eryn was eager then ever to achieve her goals. She wanted to be a leading commander of the Hylian Army similar to her father. Then she would have the possibility to change things and make the country less vulnerable and weak.

However for a lady it was not easy to gain such a position and she was distracted by other tasks given to her. By coincidence she became Hylian ambassador to the Zora race…
Her very first visit to the Zora Realm ended in a catastrophe. As some Zoras were making fun of her insecure behavior, she used water magic on them, which was seen by her Hylian attendants, who where not pleased to find out, she was an active magician.
Believing this was her last visit to the Zora Realm -although she loved that place for it's beauty- and fearing punishment, a Zora followed the group and put her reputation in perspective for her. It was Fynn, a rather arrogant but fair Zora, whose attention she caught that day. Nevertheless Eryn did not show herself thankful to him and used all curses she could think of to blame him for the incident. Perhaps it was that particular behavior he found so interesting about her.
And little did Eryn know whom she had insulted. Weeks after she met that same Zora again in the Castle for it turned out, he was the Zora ambassador to the Hylians and a close relative to King Zora. Still that didn't prevent her to speak to him in a rather blunt and frank way. But he didn't mind her behavior and appreciated her honesty compared against other aristocrats. Eryn on the other hand enjoyed his sarcastic humor and knew although he might be proud and arrogant, he was truehearted. Both understood each other easily though belonging to two different races.
However it was Fynn who told his king about Eryn's magical abilities, which made her an ideal ambassador to the water realm of the Zoras. Despite she never lost her goals, she was content to spend much of her time with the Zoras and especially with Fynn. Even though both were more than fond of each other, none would dare to admit it and so they remained friends for a long time.

Soon an upcoming war was thwarting Eryn's newly gained contentment. Only little did she believe in prophecies or even legends about the Triforce, but it was obvious to her that the King of the Gerudo was a threat to her country. The King of Hyrule didn't want to hear any of this and wouldn't even believe his own daughter's warnings. In his opinion all his allies were true and accusing one of them would only brake peace and harmony that was thriving until then.
Seeing the attack of criminals and monsters lead by Ganondorf were increasing, Eryn soon dedicated more time to her military career. She counseled the commanders and did her best to make them realize a war might be coming, though for long time her effort seemed in vain.
Almost willing to give up hope, she soon became involved with a story, she considered to be more then strange. It had to do with an even stranger lad named Link, who was destined to be a hero. She didn't believe in such things either, but she did realize Link was a brave young man with a good heart and high talents. After hearing about Zeldas plans for him to become that so called chosen hero and what challenges she gave him, Eryn decided to support him as much as she could.
Nonetheless she did not support Zelda's plans and she questioned them. But she was not in a position to hinder any of it and neither would she squeal her knowledge to the King. What she could do though was gather any proof of Ganondorf's betrayal and make sure Link was treated fairly and not used like a marionette.
Of course Fynn was not pleased to find out about Eryn's new passion and was jealous of Link, but she managed to put that right, although still being to anxious to admit any feelings for the Zora. And she didn't have time to do so, because as expected a new war started and her talents were suddenly in demand. Being a specialist in Zora affairs and also having knowledge of strategy, her talents were gladly combined counseling operations of both Zoras and Hylians.
Realizing both lived in dangerous times, Fynn seized his chances and finally confessed his feelings to her. Feeling like a fool for not doing the same at an earlier point in time, Eryn stays with him though she continues to follow her goals. Though war continues both don't give up hope and enjoy every minute with each other.
Here is a ‘brief’ summary of a Zelda fanfiction I wrote. The original text is in German and because it is over 200 pages long and not even finished yet :XD:, I don’t think I want to translate the whole thing in to English, but I might translate some passages I like.

It takes place at the same time of the game Ocarina of Time and I thought about even covering the issues of all three time lines that spilt from that point :XD: My intention of writing that ff was to straighten the story of OoT out and writing it in way it makes a bit more sense than what is shown in the game. Also I wanted to introduce several theories I have on various Zelda aspects.

I have more incomplete LoZ-fanfictions involving pretty much the same characters. Those stories cover other games as well as separate stories. They are all somewhat connected to each other because I describe the characters being reincarnations from previous times (as it seems to be the case with some characters ingame and what was explained in the end of Skyward Sword). Sometimes the characters know about their previous lives.
However I haven’t finished it yet and it seems it will take years until I will. And because there will always be new games, there will always be new material to write on :D
I started this all in 2008, but had ideas already long before as I played the games for the first time in 1992 (A Link to the Past :D ). Many aspects I developed together with ~xxxGravemindxxx, who is also the owner of Genoveva. She is writing her own ff, describing the dark side of the story.

Edit: Oh and please forgive the typos and other errors =P
