Description
Eyjafjallajökull (yeah, I know how to pronounce that ) is the famous vulcano in Iceland that went off in 2010 and people call E15, because they cannot pronounce the actual name . It's ash caused flights in Europe to be cancelled for weeks.
Unfortunately neither Eyjafjallajökull nor any of the other vulcanos that are supposed to go off soon went off while I was there . Seeing a vulcano go off is still on my bucket-list. However I can cross out 1. seeing the northern lights and 2. steaming a cheese sandwich on hot vulcanic rocks from my list
But enough ranting and back to the pic: It was taken from the plane on my way to Iceland. The weather was all very nice with hardly any clouds that moment, but as I had a tour down the southcoast Eyjafjallajökull was hidden in clouds.
Sólheimajökull is the glacier on the bottum right. I have close-ups of that which I will submit soon.
Edit: dA doesn't let me type it the correct spelling of the names in the title
