Description

Picture taken at the coast of Reykjanes, Iceland.

I wonder what the history of that tree stump is, since there are not many trees on the island? I know that even trees from Siberia get drifted to Iceland. It would be interesting to know how long that one was on the road and were it came from :aww:

This is a very interesting picture. It almost looks like a seascape from above. But then you see the knot and know "Oh! This is a tree." The particular impact to me is where you said you took it. In Iceland! I've read Journey to the Centere of the Earth and know what you're saying about the wood being scarce, so I can appreciate the impact. And as I said in my actual comment, I think Reykjanes is where the book was based.
As to the composition of the picture, I like it. I prefer rule of thirds when it comes to a noticeable spot like that knot(haha, that rhymed), but it's off-center from the side and that is very good. Make it interesting. Make those symmetrical freaks(like myself) spaz out and want it in the middle, but then rethink it and say it would look annoyingly common if it was in the middle.
As a whole, it, along with it's story, are quite lovely.
